Job Description

The Vice President, Business and Financial Analysis (Vice President) will work closely with the company’s CFO and senior leadership team and contribute to the overall strategic direction and performance of the business from both a financial and operational perspective.  Key objectives for this person will be to ensure that the company’s analytics, budgeting, and forecasting disciplines will support the operations and explosive growth anticipated for this company. 

The Vice President will serve as a key financial and business partner to the CFO to direct the company’s business and financial analytics, keep pace with the development and growth plans and ensure effective communication to support decision making. 

With the company in a high-growth mode, the foundational processes and ‘scaling’ of the company are underway.  The Vice President will be both hands-on and strategic in leading the work within and across the teams.  This individual must be collaborative, ensure effective communication and alignment across the teams and push back effectively to ensure sound business and financial decisions are made.     

RESULTS MEASURED BY THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
  • Serve as a key financial partner to the Chief Financial Officer with respect to financial modeling, presentations, financial analysis, and forecasting, etc. Deliver value to the organization through analytics and information but also taking that work to the next level of mobilizing and supporting the implementation in both the finance and broader organization.
  • Build, analyze and report a focused set of operational metrics and dashboards to allow the senior leadership team and board to monitor the company’s performance.
  • Ensure the collaboration and communication of the deals across the finance team to support the integration of the work required in accounting, financial reporting and revenue cycle.
  • Support the processes and technology implementation that will be required to scale the business to support the next levels of growth.
  • Work closely with the corporate development team in the valuation, assessment, due diligence, and integration of all investments.
  • Oversee the roll-up, investment analysis and approval process for the evaluation of capital spending in both the base business and development or growing business.
  • Lead the development and implementation of budgeting and forecasting processes for the company which addresses the unique financial requirements of the company’s joint ventures with its hospital partners.
  • Strong operations orientation that effectively utilizes well-developed analytical performance improvement and process improvement/ measurement principles. Demonstrated success in execution and project management skills

 

Job Requirements

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education:

In addition to an undergraduate degree, an MBA is desired. Strong accounting background is required for this role, but a CPA not required.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have at least 8 to 10 years of progressively more responsible experience, ideally in the lead FP&A or M&A development role with a dynamic healthcare services organization. It is strongly preferred that this individual had previously worked with a company during a sustained period of revenue and earnings growth and operational discipline in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment. The VP will also have a strong forecasting and budgeting background, ideally including Big Four accounting experience earlier in his or her career.

It will be important for this individual to bring strong operations finance and partnering experience, with a keen ability and passion to immerse himself/herself in day-to-day financial operations and adding value daily. In a smaller, high growth environment, this is a hands-on position leading work of a small, less experienced team. The individual must be able to adapt to change, changing priorities and issues and keep many projects on track, frequently found in an emerging business. This, combined with the excellent training and structure brought with large company experience, would be an ideal combination. It will be expected that this individual will develop an extremely strong “partner” relationship with the VP, CFO, CEO, CDO, and key operating leaders of the company. He or she must be viewed as a team player and possess the independence of thought and opinion to provide candor and honesty when making key business decisions.
