The Senior Accountant - Corporate will play a major role in the month-end close in the preparation of complex journal entries, analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.   This position will be a key part of the Finance team and will need to work autonomously to ensure that the accounting and financial reporting for each of their areas is accurate. The ideal candidate will have experience with multi-location accounting and a proven history of thinking outside the box to come up with creative solutions to gain efficiencies. The role will primarily consist of activities related to the monthly close process and financial reporting from a technical accounting/GAAP perspective, as well as key account reconciliations, expense analysis, etc. 

RESULTS MEASURED BY THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:

General:

  • Perform the monthly financial closing processes including:
    • Journal entry preparation
    • Variance analysis
    • Preparation of monthly financial reports
  • Timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provide accounting support to center operations
  • Record payroll entries and provide payroll analysis. Interface with HR/Payroll team.
  • Account for employee benefits and record benefit accruals.
  • Account for debt including hedge accounting documentation and analysis.
  • Complete equity-related accounting, including stock compensation related accounting
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

 

Job Requirements

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • CPA, or in-process CPA required
  • High level of familiarity with GAAP research and technical memos
  • 7 years accounting experience, public accounting is a plus
  • Must be highly proficient in MS Excel and have a strong knowledge of other MS office products
  • Experience with ERP systems, with proficiency in GL systems required
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), Concur, or similar systems a plus
  • Track record of process improvement highly preferred
  • Must have a strong business acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work well and effectively communicate with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Multi-site experience preferred
