The Manager, Project Management – Strategic Projects is responsible for understanding the “why” behind our strategic projects, partnering with the PMO director and other business leaders to create the vision, critical success factors and roadmap for those projects, and then supporting the team leading projects through their life-cycles to deliver results to the company, our colleagues, and most importantly, our patients. The Manager, Project Management – Strategic Projects role will focus on addressing our strategic projects PMO processes and reporting and supporting assigned strategic initiatives. The role requires a person who is action and results-oriented, a "take-charge" leader with strong communication skills (written and spoken), leadership, negotiating and business case development skills. THIS IS A 6 MONTH TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manager, Project Management – Strategic Projects will take a lead role in corporate projects and:

• Lead or support a variety of initiatives including clinical application development, systems integration and deployment, business process improvements, operational efficiency improvements, etc.
• In partnership with business leaders, manage the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple company-wide projects simultaneously
• Identify issues and risks, advise on mitigation plans, and escalate critical issues
• Train project business leads on project management methodology, tools, and best practices
• Manage enterprise project tools in alignment with standards set by the PMO
• Partner closely with business leaders to analyze new business requests, prepare required information for governance decisions and provide transparency of portfolio investments
• Develop deeper understanding of the healthcare industry relative to the assigned portfolio
• Collaborate with other members of the PMO team to ensure alignment, dependencies or impact of a business request may have to the other portfolios
• Build strong relationships with business leaders to understand the business challenges and opportunities for assigned portfolio area

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:


• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, business, or related fields is preferred, or a combination of equivalent education / work experience.
• Experience in project management in healthcare or IT implementation is required
• PMP credential is highly preferred
• Willingness to travel (up to 20%); this is not a remote position
• Competent in MS Office Suite including SharePoint, experience with Smartsheet is a plus
• Practices breakthrough thinking – “Big Picture” and “Outside the Box"
