The Senior Accountant will share oversight of the accounting for the company’s joint ventures (“JV”). This position will be a key part of the Finance team and will need to work autonomously to ensure that the accounting and financial reporting for the joint ventures is accurate. The ideal candidate will have experience with multi-location accounting and a proven history of providing a high-level of customer service to both internal and external interested parties. Responsibilities will consist primarily of activities related to the monthly close process and financial reporting to the company’s joint ventures.

RESULTS MEASURED BY THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:

General:

  • Fixed asset accounting, rollforwards, audit support
  •  Play a leading role in the company’s capex process
  •  Assist Treasury manager in capex calculations and research
  • Leases - Play a primary role in transitioning the company to the new leasing standard
  • Review facility lease and other contracts and prepare supporting schedules and journal entries, including deferred rent schedules

Joint Venture:

  • Preparing and supporting complex journal entries
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations
  • JV capital rollforwards
  • Minority interest calculations
  • Equity method GAAP entries including eliminations and allocations
  • Prepare various technical accounting white papers
  • Month end P&L review with variance analysis
  • Provide support to Manager, JV Accounting in building strong relationships with JV partners
  • Assist with accounting for acquisitions
  • Review JV agreements and summarize
  • Audit support as required

 

Job Requirements

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • CPA, or in-process CPA required
  • 7 years accounting experience, public accounting or practice management is a plus
  • Must be highly proficient in MS Excel and have a strong knowledge of other MS office products
  • Experience with ERP systems, with proficiency in GL systems required
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), Concur, or similar systems a plus
  • Track record of process improvement highly preferred
  • Must have a strong business acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work well and effectively communicate with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Multi-site experience preferred
